I found in my social media feed a link regarding a "Pastor Who Wants the Death Penalty for Gays Rails Against Pride Month" I was shocked! In my opinion this is so anti-Jesus. He commands us to love all including the enemy. He never said love and forgive the liar, adulterer, thief, etc. BUT not the homosexuals and the individuals in the LGBQT community. Jesus never used a "but'. John 13:34 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another." It has always been love the person hate the sin and in loving the person it might bring them to Christ not run from Him. God wants all to come to Christ and this pastor and his flock are not bringing the "all".
There are so many examples of people in the LGBQT community that have come to Christ because of the love Christians have displayed for them. Speaking with them about Jesus, inviting them to church, fellowship with them. Jesus after all ate and drank with people from the Red Quarter which is not the nice area of town! On my page "Changed Lives" there are a few interviews with said people and their testimonies. There are thousands like these to watch that the LGBQT community doesn't want you to know about. How can that happen? No matter gay, an addict, a liar, lover of sexual immorality, etc. when a person genuinely accepts Jesus in to their heart as their Lord and Savior the Holy Spirit moves in and begins His process of "cleaning house" I like to say. In my case it was anger, bitterness, alcohol to numb, etc. He did so much cleaning my gall bladder was also removed hahaha. I used to have a truckers mouth and it was funny one day I realized I stopped swearing with out even being conscious of it. So my point is when a person truly repents and wants to please God and do His will, the Holy Spirit changes the posture of our heart. We want more of Him and less of ourselves. God's fruit He freely gives us, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humbleness, and self control, and the Holy Spirit works to ripen that fruit with in us.
A church is not the building; a church is God's people coming together to be the body of Christ. As Paul describes in Corinthians 12:12-27, "For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body-whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free-and have all been made to drink into one Spirit." As a church we are to be the light of Jesus and reflect His character in hopes others will see and wonder and might follow. So churches should embrace all people by loving all people and love the person while hating the sin. This brings hope of change in the person; on their own with the Holy Spirit to begin the 'House Cleaning" and take its course. This does not mean however, that a church is to bend the Bible as some churches do today and accept homosexuality and condone that behavior. Lying to the people with false doctrine that they will be saved and continue a known sin listed many times in the Bible. We do not conform to the world to make the world happy. The person conforms to God's word which is the Bible. Look at it this way, you know Mr. A is sleeping with Ms. B even though he is married to Mrs. A. He comes to church and everyone knows this is happening and the church condones the behavior knowing adultery is a known sin. NO! That cannot happen either.
All sinners are welcome to Jesus. All. Jesus created the cherries but He never cherry picked one sin over another. Sin is sin to our God and because of it we are separated from Him; we all fall short of the glory of God. So if you have been pulled from the pit of this world and saved; crawl back to the pit with a life line for all those left. You were saved to share His word so the "all" can also be saved.
